“ What's not to love here....Nice vibe and fantastic Chicago tavern style pizza and along with the best onion rings and tater tots ever. This was my first time eating the pizza here and it's now one of my fav pizzas in Chicago. I'm usually not a fan of pizza with crust this cracker thin but the flavor of the cheese, sauce and toppings were so amazing ive had to change my stance on pizza this thin...Looking forward to going back. ”
“ We went there with our daughter's ice skating team. The customer service was fabulous! Salads were big, fries hot! Lots of happy people! They made it not only a nice meal, but a fun experience! ”
“ They are an institution and shame on me for never coming here as an adult before last night. We had a really lovely greeting at the door. The vibe was very chill and family friendly. They let our preteen kids sit at their own table. That's always a big plus in my book! Drink menu was diverse but not overwhelming. Onion rings were outstanding. Housemade dressings. Another big plus in my book! Tavern style pizza on point. My only slight criticism was we had the Italian beef and gardinera pizza, a personal favorite of mine and not something offered everywhere and it was very finely almost shredded beef. I like a heartier little ball of beef, but hey, I'm just one gal so next time I'll just order the pepperoni and hot honey; which I'm looking forward to. Great night, great food and atmosphere! I grew up down the street, but haven't been back since I was a kid and now my kids play basketball at Warren park so I'll be making this a regular stop post games!!! ”
“ This place is incredibly good for their pizzas. They are easygoing ambiance and accessible via public transportation and mitered parking spaces around the locale. ”
“ I've been living down the street from Candlelite for two years and today was my lucky day to try it . The owner Pat was super cool and sent me a gift card cuz of a mixup between Candelite and their sister restaurant in Chicago Ave . I was able tk use it today and my mom and I are loving this Hawaiian pizza- highly recommend. ”
“ We went yesterday around noonish and were warmly greeted by Heather who was hands down lovely and informative. We had the whole place to ourselves and the food was outstanding. Unsure if it was a fluke it was dead or if that is the standard which is sad bc the food and atmosphere are phenomenal! ”
“ I've been to Candlelite Chicago a few times now, and it's always a solid experience. The first time I went was on a Monday, and they had their half-off pizza deal, which is an absolute steal. You're basically getting buy-one-get-one-free pizzas, but I believe it's only for the medium and large sizes. Such a great deal! Another time I went, we got the pizza again, and the taste has been super consistent every time. We tried the taco pizza, which was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the smokiness that comes from the roasted red pepper. Other than that, it was pretty solid. The veggie pizza is also a hit--classic tavern-style with a crispy, crunchy crust that's just so good. For appetizers, we got the fries, which were awesome, and you absolutely have to end the night with their cookie skillet. It's really, really good, though it can be a bit too sweet with all the caramel and chocolate on top. Plus, the ice cream-to-cookie ratio is a little off, but it's still worth getting. Both times I've been, the service was great. The place can get really busy on Mondays, so just a heads-up if you're planning to go then. There's street parking right in front that's usually free at night, which is super convenient. Definitely worth checking out! ”
“ So good! Definitely get the white pizza with caramelized onions. The red sauce is a little zesty for my preference, I like the sweeter ones but overall super good super crispy! Def will be returning soon ”
“ Amazing food, always fresh, service was amazing. I personally had the California burger with blue cheese and raw onions and it was beyond delicious and juicy. The service is always amazing and I appreciate that more than anything. Shout out to Steve and the other gentlemen for the great service. ”
“ I've been coming here since I was a kid (my mom still lives up the street) and while many things are very different - including the ownership - it's still very good. We got a "large" sausage for $28(!), which wasn't that large - luckily it was on a Tuesday night which is BOGO, so my mom took home a veggie pizza. ”
